Amazing Mashed Potatoes

these mashed potatoes rock. you guys will have to tell me how you like them  :)

servings:  3-4
RED GARLIC MASHED POTATOES

  • 8 medium red potatoes, cubed
  • 2 teaspoons crushed garlic (I didn't have any, so i oven roasted some fresh garlic)
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 cup whipping cream or half and half
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon steak seasoning (I put in more hehe)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • some onion powder
  • optional -- cream cheese
    •    - peppers, for roasting with garlic

  1. Place the potatoes into a large pot, and fill with enough water to cover. Add the crushed garlic and lemon pepper to the water for flavor Bring to a boil, and cook for about 10 minutes, or until easily pierced with a fork.
  2. Drain the potatoes, and add the butter. Mash until the butter is melted. Mix in the half-and-half, sugar, steak seasoning, garlic powder and remaining garlic. Mix potatoes with an electric mixer until smooth.  If you don't have a mixer though you can just mash it up with a fork until it is ready

  2. You oven roasted your own garlic? Where did you come from, Chef Emeril's kitchen? (Did you take the potatoes picture?)

  3. The cream cheese theme continues. I wish I had done this with my recent red potatoes that didn't turn out half as good as these look.

  6. did it take you 12 hours to oven roast it? Mom was telling me about your tragic oven... maybe it's worthy of a post so I can get all the details?
